Various Video Game Deals / Restocks (12/19)

Deal Updates:

Price Drops: I bit on Tears to Tiara II today at $14.88, which is down $2.28 from it’s price as of our 12/17 deal posting. Dengeki Bunko and Lost Dimension continue to trend down, waiting on a sub $20 price for both Vita and PS3 versions.

Price Increases: Arcana Heart 3 and Conception II both leaped in price. Aquapazza is beginning to trend up, lock in on your sub $11 copy if you haven’t already. Amiibo Festival is also trending up, but I still think it’s overpriced.

Devil’s Third: Me and @swampfriend streamed Devil’s Third last night, and I’m convinced the game is the real deal. Expect the price to soar as non-mainstream game critics start coming out of the woodwork in favor of this cult classic. If you can get a copy on eBay for $90, I’d seriously consider it. Look for the stream video in the next few days!

(Regular disclaimer: I get a small kickback if you use my links to buy a game, so if you don’t like me, feel free to just plug the game’s name into the Amazon search bar).

Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi (PSP) | $5.33 at time of posting.

Late generation PSP title (2013), with a $5 price tag. Sure thing. This is also a Dynasty Warriors clone and not a weird dating sim, so may have more appeal than the niche main series.Verdict: Buy
Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi Limited Edition (PS3) | $21.10 at time of posting.

Gonna say basically the same thing about this as the above title. Late generation release, niche appeal, cool box. The Hakuoki 3DS LE is already a collector’s item, same could happen here.

Verdict: Buy

Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Limited Edition (Wii U) | $59.99 at time of posting.

Yeah, this was out of stock and is now back. With Amazon pre-orders, you can lock in and back out later if it looks like the game is going to be overproduced, no money down. I expect this to be like all other Zelda LEs and only go up in value over time, lock in now!

Verdict: Pre-Order

Trauma Team (Wii) | $21.24 at time of posting.

I’ve been scouring my local Gamestops for a used copy of this one for about a year, having not found even one. This indicates a fairly low print run, and I think this may end up being a rarity down the line. I’ll keep an eye on this one and let you guys know if any significant drops take place

Verdict: Hold

NIS America:

Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy LE (Vita) – Restock | $39.99
Stranger of Sword City LE (Vita) – Preorder | $59.99

NIS keeps trying to push these generic looking FPS dungeon crawlers (from the Demon’s Gaze guys), and I’m not sure why. The genre is super unpopular here in America (I like weird Japanese genres, and even I don’t want to play this garbage), and the games look like they should be $10 Steam titles or something.

I’ve said I’m bullish on Vita before, but this is my exception. Maybe at some point I’ll pick the games up for cheap on eBay, but I’m not paying premium prices for these dogs.

Verdict: Hold
